The Daily Mail on the SWP “rape” crisis

February 2, 2013 at 11:47 pm (Daily Mail, Jim D, misogyny, sexism, SWP, women)

Dear, oh dear. The Daily Mail has more on this, and of course it damages the entire left:

A show of hands! That’s how the Socialist Workers Party cleared a comrade of rape

  • Female party member made claims against full-time party activist
  • Dispute was heard by party’s ‘disputes committee’, decisions of which need to be ratified at annual conference
  • Five of the panel’s members had previously worked alongside the accused
  • SWP insists victim herself chose not to involve the police

I suppose the capitalist press would eventually have to comment. So if the SWP had found the alleged rapist guilty what would be the sentence imposed!

The silly woman that alleges rape is no doubt someone that aspires to political power but does not go to the police and attempt to get DNA tests to prosecute the alleged rapist. The old days of women ‘asking for it’ are long gone.

Is this the type of person that should be representing women or anyone else that has been criminally assaulted. Seems to me the SWP have the same mentality as the fruitcakes that want Sharia Law imposed on society.

    • Come Off It said,

Jesus suffering fuck man, what is wrong with you?

The SWP is a cult. A nasty, fascistic little cult at that. There’s as much chance of one of its members going to the police about being raped as there is of a Scientologist doing the same.

“Is this the type of person that should be representing women?” – it would be better to ask “Is this the type of organisation that should be representing socialists?” – the answer, from anyone who objects to institutionalised misogyny, homophobia and antisemitism (all SWP hallmarks) would be a resounding NO.

Take this vile, festering, Islamist cult and shove it up your woman-hating arse.

Nick Cohen makes some fair points in today’s Observer, but like other left-liberals, uses it as a stick with which to beat ‘Leninism’:
