From LabourStart and the International Transport Workers Federation:
We need your help to pile on more pressure on Turkish Airlines (THY) and the Turkish government to reinstate the 305 dismissed aviation workers and end the strike ban in the industry.
This week the International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF) is calling on Turkish Airlines sponsors Manchester United and Barcelona football clubs to urge THY to end its heavy-handed approach and to talk to the workers’ union, Hava-Is. The ITF is also launching ‘Brutally Yours’ a one-minute protest film in support of the sacked workers. And on the ground, solidarity actions continue – such as women staging a protest outside the THY ticket office in Taksim Square in Istanbul on Sunday.
Please help us to step up the pressure:
- If you haven’t yet done so already, sign up to the LabourStart campaign and invite at least five our your friends, family and co-workers to do the same.
- Watch the one minute video Brutally Yours — and share this too.
- Visit the ITF’s special new campaign site for the Turkish Airlines workers for all campaign actions and news.
We need your help to make the film go viral and to get as many people as possible to sign up to the campaign.
Both are ways of showing THY and the Turkish government that international support for workers’ and union rights and for Hava-Is and the dismissed workers is unrelenting.
