Following the piece on songs about the rain, I looked for some songs about the sun or summer weather. I would guess that there won’t be as many happy songs about the sun as there are sad songs about the rain, and they won’t be as good. “Happiness writes white.”
Here are a few:-
(The Fab Four could write happy sometimes.)
(I think they were the first band I ever saw.)
(Of course)
(Sunshine on Leith, instead of floods threatening Leith.)
(Joyful song.)
Fun Fun Fun doesn’t specifically mention a sunny day in California, but it’s hard to imagine it being set in Scotland’s Central Belt while a month’s worth of rain dumps in a day.

Maybe not quite the sunniest song of all time, but certainly the sunniest performer:

wow, this is a challenge. here’s the mothers of invention with “zolar czakl” (like “solar cycle”, get it?)
but deliriously, folks, here’s a rendition of the “first delphic hymn to apollo” (and apollo, as we know, was often associated with the sun)
but to end this little set–sly and the family stone “hot fun in the summer time”

oops, almost forgot “flashlight” by parliament, where, at the end of the song, they tell us that “everybody’s got to live under the sun”

(This one doesn’t specify the weather, but it seems unlikely to have been written in dreich drizzle.)
