Poor recording quality, weird film (what’s the significance of that bridge?), but…the wildest, swingingest version of ‘Jingle Bells’ ever. Thomas ‘Fats’ Waller in 1936. Fats and the boys were feeling no pain that day.

I know this is off-topic, but sad news about the death of Billy Taylor, the composer of this fine piece of work:

Not off-topic at all, sackcloth: Taylor was an admirer and friend of Fat’s fellow-strider, Willie ‘The Lion’ Smith. Also, seems to have been a good guy all round.
