    Is that Alistair Cooke they’re talking to? He was a jazz fan. An interesting cross between country and western and bebop – a path not taken probably for the better.

    Love that Gaillard quote. Is there any material of his on You Tube – his version of How High the Moon where the quote comes from is hilarious. Once saw him on a bus going down Oxford Street.

    Wonderful Gaillard clip: thanks, Bruce. Like you I searched on Youtube for his ‘How High The Moon’, but sadly it’s not there. The great surrealist of jazz: were you on the same bus, and did you speak to him? And, yes, that is Alistair Cooke.
