I quite agree…
… albeit with the (rather funny) post, and not with Will’s dumb-ass comments.
Looks like there’s been trouble at t’mill. At this rate they’ll soon be renaming that blog “Just William”.

Why is that post ‘rather funny’ again?

Darren, I expect the answer to your question depends on what time you were looking at it:
http://sedgemore.com/2008/06/drink-soaked-trots-blog/
Francis Bukharin has finally rebelled! I wonder how long before Scoop Zinoviev and Eric Kamenev are executed? When will Hak Trotsky be exiled to the Outer Hebridies?

Hak will be ok (deleted by JD) Pathetic cunt, likesay, and no guts away from his computer. The fella’s all piss and wind, a pretend clever boy.

Will’s present trajectory reminds me of Tyler Durden’s path to self destruction in Fight Club. When he’s hit rock bottom and has nothing left he’ll be free to do whatever he wants. This is his journey to enlightenment.

that’s the problem of power, any power, when some people get it they abuse it, even the power of moderating a blog, which all in all is rather pathetic, reminds me of the antics of SU blog!

I was just about to say it was refreshing to see a thread about a blog other than Socialist Unity, but then Modernity went and let the side down

I couldn’t resist
However, I do think power is an issue on the Left, as if you couldn’t trust some people with mere blog moderation powers (as at SU blog or the Drunk Trots), how can you trust them with an AK47 or ib the barricades?
you couldn’t!

“couldn’t trust to run a whelk stall”
“couldn’t trust to run a piss-up in a brewery”
“could trust to run a blog commentary”
Discuss these statements with reference to historical, class and technological background.

I thought Will only spat obscenities and violent fantasies on this blog, as some kind of release.
Turns out he’s a one trick pony.

Further evidence to suggest that Will is nothing more than a sad, obsessive little man with nothing much to talk about other than what he sees on his eternal vigil at his keyboard

Hundel’s call on “brown people” to vote tory is utter wank too though. Not surprising though given his useless centrist and media whoring politics though.
Nikolai Sedgmore is also an opportunist who richly deserves his self inflicted isolation. A petit bourgeois ideologue for capitalism masquerading as an “anarchist”. His resignation from the trots is totally bankrupt “get off my lawn” bullshit.
The blogosphere is a principle and moral baron waste land – Will’s no better or worse than most of the tossers who pollute it. Someone prove me wrong on that point I dare ya!
voltairespriest said,

Yeah, the word you’re looking for is “barren” not “baron”, and Will is also a stupid fucker (and, it would seem, a rather creepy control freak) who worships Christopher Hitchens in the way that teenage girls used to worship the Spice Girls.

All true VP, but it doesn’t undermine my conclusion.

What would count as showing you to be wrong?
Will is a foul mouthed misanthropist who throws empty but ugly little wishes around. Whether that’s better or worse than “most of the tossers”, I don’t care. It’s bollocks.

Lobby, I’m surprised to find myself saying this but I agree with you 100%. The man’s a wanker who’s been over-indulged by (often good) people who wanted him to be better than he is. And now he’s just proving the truth of what always lay underneath the surface by turning into the very “caricature” that supposedly hid a clever and perceptive soul.
Political Emperor’s New Clothes. AKA Will’s dirty little secret.
